Community - Dynamic Duo

There are many people who contribute to our predator free movement and in this blog series we will celebrate their contribution.

We have our very own dynamic duo in the Steel brothers. Their selfless passion and commitment to the predator free movement is nothing short of astounding. They diligently service hundreds of traps in the community, including trap lines around the Muriwai village, Te Henga walkway and Coatesville area. This has had a huge impact on predator numbers in these areas. This has enabled native wildlife to recover with successes such as Oaia Road which before trapping had a five minute bird count of 5.7 in 2020, and after a year of trapping it had increase to 9 in 2021.

So from the community and on behalf of our native wildlife we say thank you!
