Community - Interview Cam & Boyd

Kia ora koutou,

I recently sat down and interviewed our very own Cam and Boyd Steel. You can watch the full video below but if you prefer reading or if eleven minutes of poor video quality with an awkward ending is not for you then here’s a brief overview of the questions I asked...

Do you know what makes up steel?

After establishing that steel is made of iron and carbon Boyd claimed that he would be iron because he’s more physically impressive. Cam is ok with being carbon because sharks have a lot of it.

Melting points - What makes your heart melt? What are some of the success stories?

Boyd is pleased to see so many people getting involved in backyard trapping. Cam added that last year’s trapping effort has helped there be an increase in bird life including miromiro and riroriro.

Boiling points - What fires you up? What motivates you to keep going?

Cam talked about how much of our ngahere (forest) we have lost and feels inspired to do his part to restore as much life as we can to our local area. Boyd also mentioned drawing inspiration from shows and podcasts such as Fight For The Wild.

What can people do at home?
Boyd spoke of how predators have perfect environments under our houses and in our barns. Having a trap or a bait station on your property is an easy way to help out and someone can even check them for you if you’d like support.
